How to improve your skin with broadband light (BBL) treatments
Today’s technology allows us to do amazing things, especially in the advancing field of dermatology. At Current Dermatology and Cosmetic Center in Annapolis, Maryland, our board-certified dermatologists, Drs. Molly Walterhoefer and Megan Casady Flahive provide a wide selection of skin care services to consider when looking to improve your skin’s appearance and health. One popular treatment is that of broadband light therapy, also referred to as BBL.
What does Broadband Light (BBL) treatment address?
BBL treatment is an advanced technology that can effectively treat a range of skin concerns. It helps in addressing the following:
- Signs of aging
- Sun damage (sunspots)
- Age spots/liver spots
- Hyperpigmentation problems
- Broken facial vessels/capillaries
- Rosacea and facial redness
- Acne/Blemish prone skin
- Discoloration from acne scarring
- Dull Skin
How do BBL treatments work?
BBL treatments use pulses of intense light energy to target specific areas on the face or body that need improvement. The photo rejuvenation skin treatment targets damaged cells in the epidermis, stimulating them to regenerate. It reduces melanin (brown pigment) production to improve pigmentation and discoloration and can be used for conditions from rosacea to acne breakouts.
How many treatments do I need?
With regular treatments, patients can enjoy improved skin clarity and a more rejuvenated, youthful look. During a consultation appointment with our dermatologists, you can ask any questions you may have about this treatment to fully understand whether or not it is right for you! We encourage you to set up a treatment plan that meets your needs and helps you achieve and maintain the skin you desire!
